Where families come together to help keep tuition low
We encourage families to graciously give CFLC 20 hours of "PARTICIPATION TIME" as well as assisting with our "REQUIRED EVENTS"

School work days are held on Saturday mornings from 8am to 12pm. These days are scheduled for the routine maintenance of our school. Jobs may include raking, trimming bushes, painting, installing shelves, moving furniture, window cleaning, pulling weeds and various other jobs.
Each family is responsible for participating in the Walk-A-Thon fundraising. The money raised from the Walk-A-Thon is used towards the CFLC Christmas program to purchase costumes, build sets, etc...
Skills in electrical, roofing, plumbing, construction or general repair is required. When the need arises you would need to be willing to give of your time and ability for the repair or maintenance. Your name will be placed on a list in the office and you will be contacted to see if you are available to remedy the need.
Potluck set up (5 needed) - Arrive ½ hour before the parent meeting/potluck dinner to help set up food and serve.
Potluck clean up (5 needed) - Stay after parent meeting/potluck dinner to wash dishes, clean tables, sweep and take out trash.
Seder meal set up (5 needed) - Arrive at 10:30 to decorate, set tables and put out food and drinks.
Seder meal clean up (5 needed) - Stay after the Seder meal to wash dishes, take down tables, sweep, set chapel back up and take out trash.
Merry Martha (10+ needed) - Provides staff encouragement by writing encouraging notes and providing a Thursday staff brunch, lunch or both.
CFLC has the unique opportunity of enjoying 4 ski days per school year that serve as part of our physical education program. Help our families on the ski slopes while enjoying the beauty of our beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains.
For students that do not participate in the ski program, we would like to offer a different outdoor activity. We need volunteers to organize additional activities: Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, ice skating, bowling, roller skating etc. One activity needed to be scheduled on each of the ski days.
Work alongside the teacher planning field trips, arranging carpools, and contacting all other parents in the class with classroom updates or recruiting parents to fill any classroom need.
Be available and willing to substitute on an on-call basis as needed. The teacher will provide an outline or schedule to follow.
